Suzanne Cupal
Suzanne Cupal studied chemistry and biology as a premedical student at the University of Michigan. She worked at WJRD radio station before moving to California for 17 years. After her mother passed away from cancer, Suzanne was inspired to get her masters in public health. She moved back to Michigan to take care of her father and started working at the Genesee Health Department, where she is now currently the Public Health Supervisor. Suzanne first joined the Community Survey in 2009 as a co-investor. She then worked as a community health analyst, epidemiologist, health supervisor, and her latest role as community health vision director. She has worked on the financial development of the project and created survey questions with community partners. Suzanne advocated on behalf of the community during the Flint water crisis. Her efforts helped gain research funding, allowed other researchers to have a baseline during that time frame, and assisted a recovery from the crisis.
